I’m a Computer Science PhD candidate at Stanford University in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Group, advised by Michael Bernstein. I build tools for visual artists with a focus on the creative process: how artists make, learn, reflect, and develop artwork over time.
My research explores how such tools can offer feedback, support learning, and improve artists’ experience as they create.
I’m especially interested in forms of computational assistance that preserve artists’ authorship and empower them to carry out their own creative decisions, rather than positioning them primarily as selectors or editors of generated output.
My perspective is shaped by my own work as a visual artist and by my involvement in online art communities. I’ve also worked in TV animation as a background designer on Invincible for Skybound Entertainment, and as a software engineer and product manager at Google. I volunteer with Stanford Splash, where I teach art classes for high school students.
